In 2009, it was worth US$ 6.08 trillion, in 2015, it was worth $7.2 trillion and 9.8% of world GDP.

In 2015, it created 284 million jobs , that is 1 in 11 jobs on the planet.

For every US$ 1 million spent, 50 jobs are created

In 1950, there were 25 million international tourists. 
By 2010, 940 million. By 2013, 1.087 billion. 
By 2030, 1.8 billion are forecast
